ENKI consistently invests in new technologies in order to equip itself with the best that the market has to offer, enabling it to utilize the most suitable solutions for carrying out the projects entrusted to it.
Microestrusione
The expertise from which ENKI was born lies in microtube extrusion in a cleanroom environment. Our production flexibility allows for both large-scale production orders and small-scale prototype productions. With two three-layer extrusion lines and a high mastery of the processes, we can extrude multilayer and multilumen tubes with outer diameters ranging from 0.2 to 14 mm and tight tolerances, up to ±0.01 mm. These tubes can have various features, including tapered, splitable, modular, and radiopaque configurations.
Blow moulding
Blow moulding involves the production of balloons starting from an extruded tube; the appropriately sized tube is then inserted into a heated mold and formed using high-pressure nitrogen.
This technology is useful for producing non-compliant balloons that can withstand high pressures or semi-compliant balloons when a compromise between pressure resistance and a larger volume is needed.
Dip moulding
The technology for forming balloons using dip moulding involves the use of thermoplastic elastomers or silicone. The polymer is dissolved in an appropriate solvent and chemically adheres to steel "mandrels" shaped like the balloon. The number of dips, along with other process parameters, determines the thickness of the balloon.
This technique is used for producing soft, highly compliant balloons where low pressures but high filling volumes are required.
Braided tubing
Braided tubing is created by inserting a braid of steel or polymer wires between two layers of thermoplastic material.
This allows for the creation of tubes with high mechanical performance, especially at high pressures, even exceeding 70 bar.
Prototyping
Prototyping in an ISO 7 cleanroom allows for the construction and verification of the best solutions for developing projects.
Design testing
A small but well-equipped laboratory enables ENKI technicians to verify the mechanical performance and characterize the produced items to ensure they meet the required specifications.
Assembling
Whether assembling the complete device in a cleanroom as a contract manufacturer or preparing semi-finished products, ENKI has extensive experience in the best processing techniques to achieve the ideal result, combining efficiency and reliability.
ENKI produces OEM devices of every risk class, ensuring the environmental, technical, and documentation requirements necessary according to medical device regulations. The constantly updated ISO 13485 certification further guarantees the reliability of ENKI's operations.
Plastic and metal laser welding
ENKI has state-of-the-art machinery with laser technology for welding plastics and metals.
This enables fast, highly repeatable, and reliable processing.
Compounding
ENKI has a compounder for mixing different polymers or for coloring thermoplastic materials.
Microtubes can be produced according to any required color specification.
Coating
ENKI has dedicated equipment for UV-cured hydrophilic coating of catheters.
When specific performance of lubricity in contact with bodily fluids is required, this treatment is often a valid choice.
Injection molding
If a custom-molded plastic component is needed in a device, ENKI has small injection presses that allow for in-house molding of small series.
Mechanical workshop
ENKI also has a small but well-equipped mechanical workshop.
This enables the creation of custom components for testing or the construction and modification of necessary tools, especially during the prototyping phase.
This wide range of opportunities is fully available to
ENKI's client projects, allowing them to see their ideas come to life.
