ENKI srl is very proud to announce its entry into the consortium of the REMODEL project. It's a great opportunity to collaborate and share solutions with these experienced partners as we continue our journey of continuous improvement and innovation. REMODEL (Robotic technologies for the manipulation of complex deformable linear objects) is a four-year project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program. The project consortium involves eleven partners.
REMODEL will enable new manufacturing environments where the production of complex products composed of multiple wires and cables for robot hub is not only possible but fully integrated with the product design chain. Wires, cables, harnesses, laces, and flexible tubes have a cross-application in many production processes, where these technologies could support the balance for total automation, reducing production costs, and improving workers' conditions.
REMODEL will bring new opportunities to labor-intensive production processes, such as those dealing with cables and wires, where routing and adaptation activities require advanced handling techniques.
The REMODEL robotic capability will impact various production scenarios where human labor is widely adopted due to the complexity of objects, materials, and manipulation activities, characterized by unpredictable initial configurations and extensive deformability and plasticity.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of REMODEL results, four industrial production use cases will be developed by industrial partners, covering five different areas, namely the production and assembly of wiring in the automotive and aerospace sectors, switch wiring, and the production of medical consumables.
